Stay Cool this Summer!

Summer is a season that many people look forward to, but it can also be a time of discomfort due to the heat. Staying cool during the summer months can be a challenge, but it's not impossible. Here are some tips on how to stay cool this summer from Pink Parlour.

Stay hydrated

One of the most important things you can do to stay cool during the summer is to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and other fluids throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they can dehydrate you and make you feel even hotter.

Dress for the weather

Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing made from breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen. Avoid tight-fitting clothes or synthetic fabrics, as they can trap heat and make you feel even hotter.

Use fans and air conditioning

Use fans or air conditioning to circulate air and cool down your living space. If you don't have air conditioning, consider installing a window unit or portable air conditioner. If you're concerned about energy costs, use fans in conjunction with air conditioning to help circulate cool air more effectively.

Take cool showers or baths

Taking a cool shower or bath can help lower your body temperature and provide temporary relief from the heat. You can also use a damp washcloth or ice pack to cool down specific parts of your body, such as your neck or forehead.

Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day

The sun is at its strongest and hottest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Try to stay indoors during this time, or seek out shaded areas if you have to be outside. If you do need to be outside, wear a wide-brimmed hat and apply sunscreen regularly to protect your skin from the sun's rays.
